Ecological Management Foundation (EMF)
In order to restore the balance between human needs and earthy resource we will have to change attitudes, have more knowledge and understanding of the ecological issue and act accordingly.
This is what the Ecological Management Foundation is promoting, with a focus on the relationship between economy, technology and ecology. The overall objectives of EMF's efforts are to activate the private sector to manage human, financial and natural resources in a sustainable way.
In recent years EMF has added to its program the role of the private sector in the poverty issue, being a major factor in sustainable development on the global scale.
The foundation concentrates on research and networking in the field of sustainability and innovative ecologically responsible management. These activities form the source for initiatives by EMF to develop projects with the private sector, in cooperation with renowned international corporations, organizations, and institutes, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
In some cases EMF acts as a microfinance provider to promote small scale innovative initiatives.
The Ecological Management Foundation was established as a not for profit organization in March 1990 in the Netherlands. The management of EMF consists of a board with diversity in professions and gender. The day to day operations are managed by the chairman, the secretary and a number of part-time consultants.
