Recent humanitarian disasters boosted the need of the instant and reliable supply of safe drinking water in predominantly rural and remote areas. In close collaboration with PWN, a Dutch drinking water company, Norit Membrane Technology has developed a mobile water purification unit denominated Perfect-E. Norit Membrane Technology is part of Norit "leading in purification" and is, along with its membrane supplier Norit X-Flow one of the world's leading companies in the development and supply of innovative membrane technology.

The Perfector-E produces high quality potable water from polluted surface water. This unit is based on ultra filtration technology that retains impurities like bacteria and viruses, followed by an additional disinfection treatment using ultraviolet light. The Perfector-E, fed by a mobile generator, has a capcity of 2,000 litres per hour. Originally developed for emergency aid purposes, the Perfect-E has a robust design and is extremely easy to operate (one-button operation) and maintain.
